About Us – DISUR (The Alliance for the Comprehensive Development of South Puerto Rico)
The Alliance for Comprehensive Development of the South (DISUR in its Spanish initials) is a private non-profit corporation organized under the laws of Puerto Rico since June 6, 2006. Its strategic intent is to promote prosperity, create a better quality of life for people in the region and to promote and maximize the competitiveness and sustainable socioeconomic development of the Southern Region of Puerto Rico, integrating efforts and resources from public, private and academic sectors, and also area communities.
The Southern Region of Puerto Rico includes 15 municipalities: Adjuntas, Arroyo, Coamo, Guanica, Guayama, Guayanilla, Jayuya, Juana Diaz, Patillas, Penuelas, Ponce, Salinas, Santa Isabel, Villalba and Yauco. For more information see Our Reach section.
