DISUR Presents Tourism Council
On March 24, 2010, DISUR presented a Council on Tourism at the Municipality of Guayama's Convention Center. Copresenters included the Chamber of Commerce of South Puerto Rico (CCSPR) and Porta Caribe. Among the themes developed during the activity include the following: New tourism investment in the South, specialized market sectors, the vision of tourism from the perspective of small inns, and the infrastructure necessary to develop a tourist hub. The activity was very popular and participatory, with representation from business, academia, government, and the community from the Southern Region of Puerto Rico. In addition, DISUR collected a variety of ideas, commitments and volunteers to support the development of tourism in the region.
